The Liberian Registry is committed to providing shipowners convenient, efficient and cost-effective certification services. In response to its overwhelming success with harmonizing the overlapping requirements for compliance with both the International Safety Management (ISM) and International Ship & Port Facility Security (ISPS) Codes, the Registry has expanded its service capabilities to include inspection and certification services for compliance with the International Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006).
VESSEL MLC CERTIFICATION
Liberia is the only registry to provide MLC, 2006 Ship Verification and Certification services through its own professionally trained global network of Maritime Labour Inspectors. These same lead auditors also perform a large percentage of Liberia’s unique “Harmonized Audits” which includes the Annual Flag State Inspection, ISM and ISPS verifications for the Liberian fleet, providing owners and operators with professional and cost-effective service.
SEAFARER RECRUITMENT & PLACEMENT CERTIFICATION
The Registry has also trained its own worldwide network of maritime labour inspectors to conduct certification inspections of companies providing seafarer recruitment and placement services that are not certified by the seafarers national government.
MLC BLOCK FEE AGREEMENTS
The Administration has devised a block fee concept for MLC verification inspections and certifications. Owners and operators have the option to pay individually for specific MLC services or they can enter into a MLC block fee agreement (BFA) which will result in significant financial savings.
